The evolution of tech (and Silicon Brighton 👀) holds many possibilities.

Join us live from PLATF9RM – Hove on Thursday 12th October for our next Silicon Brighton Leaders event where we’ll be making an announcement that will pave the way for the future of Silicon Brighton. We’ve got some amazing stuff in store for 2024 and we can’t wait to tell you about it!

W e’ll then hear from Amy Lewin (Editor at Sifted, reporting on startups and tech in Europe) for a powerful talk on how to make tech our salvation, not our downfall.

Killer robots, deadly viruses, enormous inequality: there are many ways new technology could let us fly too close to the sun and spell disaster for humanity. Done right, though, innovations in AI, climate tech and biology could mean great things for our health — and the planet too.

Amy will look at some of the most ground-breaking technologies startups are developing, what that could unleash — and why we as a society must watch closely.

Amy’s keynote will lead into a panel discussion facilitated by Richard Freeman (CEO of Always Possible) and joined by Damilola Ajiboye.

About Amy Lewin…

Amy Lewin is the editor of Financial Times-backed Sifted, the fast-growing media publication for Europe’s startups and tech ecosystem. She leads Sifted’s lively team of journalists, hosts Sifted’s weekly podcast and writes a weekly newsletter on venture capital.

Amy is frequently invited onstage at major industry events worldwide — recently Founders Forum, Slush, WebSummit, Sifted Summit and SuperVenture — where she’s interviewed the likes of Snap CEO Evan Spiegel, screenwriter Richard Curtis and Estonia’s former president Kersti Kaljulaid, along with the most notable European founders and investors. Amy is a specialist, keynote speaker and moderator covering all the technological innovations set to shape our society in the months and years to come, from generative AI to climate tech, fintech to foodtech, and is an expert on Europe’s VC industry.

Having joined Sifted as its first employee in 2018, Amy’s played an instrumental role in building and developing a new media brand and media business from scratch — launching everything from newsletters to podcasts to live events, hiring a team and honing Sifted’s editorial voice and viewpoint.
