We are happy to announce that Adam Dennett, Professor of Urban Analytics, Bartlett Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis at the University College London, will be presenting his work titled: “And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren’t for you meddling data scientists! The Case of the Brighton Secondary School Admissions Consultation“.

In his talk, Adam will cover how he rapidly became an expert in the travails of the Brighton Secondary School Admissions system though delving into the data to try and make an informed contribution to the council’s engagement and consultation exercises. He will recount his findings and interpretations of the particular challenges facing the city from the perspective of a spatial data scientist. He will also touch briefly on the power of a collective community intelligence supported through the rapid publication of accessible quantitative analysis and data visualisation though tools like Quarto and Github.

Our events are hybrid (in person and webcast). We start at 18:00 with refreshments and networking. The talks and the live webcast start at 18:30.

The Brighton data forum is sponsored by Rittman Mead Consulting, and supported by Silicon Brighton.
