SUMMARY:Brighton Data Forum: Magic and madness! Beauty and horror!
DESCRIPTION:A picture says more than a thousand words.\nBut which words? Wh
at do images convey? How can we automate the deciphering the meaning from
images? And how can we transform the emotional payload that images convey
from unstructured heavy data to compact\, rich\, useful\, structured data
(and onwards from there to insights)?\nThe answer will require some expert
s in the art of semiotics. Or should that be 'wizards of the dark art' of
semiotics?\nJoin us to find out as Andy Dexter\, founder of signoi.com\,
presents to the forum: "Magic and madness! Beauty and horror!"\nHow Signoi
's work with Pinterest revealed the hidden dimensions of images that inspi
re or repel people.\nOur development of an image-based "Inspiration Algori
thm" influenced the entire company's content strategy.\nSo what comes next
for AI visual analytics\, especially in the new world of generative AI?\n
P.S. For a taste of quantitative semiotics in the context of recent social
media upheavals\, I recommend this recent blog post on Signoi's website.
