 opic of standards.\nStandardising AI and the concepts that support it\nWe
  all depend on standards—but rarely think about where they come from or 
 how they’re made. This talk explores the hidden standards behind the too
 ls and technologies you use every day\, from C++ to AI and data governance
 . Guy Davidson and Sinead Fitzgerald will share how standards are crea
 ted\, why they matter in practice\, and how they got involved—along with
  practical ways you can engage if you’re curious.\nAbout the speakers:\n
 \n\n 	Sinead Fitzgerald\, Principal Data Architect at Paxton Access\, serv
 es on technical committees at BSI\, CEN/CENELEC and ISO/IEC\, with a focus
  on AI and data governance. She brings 30+ years’ experience across soft
 ware engineering\, data management and architecture\, leading data strateg
 y\, standards\, and organisational change at Paxton Access.\n 	Guy Davidso
 n\, Convenor of the ISO C++ programming language and BSI Chair of Programm
 ing Languages\, is the author of Beautiful C++.\nFormerly Head of Engineer
 ing Practice at Creative Assembly\, where he worked primarily on the Total
  War franchise\, he is an experienced international speaker and Chair of t
 he ACCU Conference. He also serves on advisory boards for several universi
 ties\, contributing to engineering curricula and supporting student develo
 pment from undergraduate to postdoctoral level.\n
