About the event

Discuss and get feedback on your work – art / design school critique style!

For our next event, we’re inviting folks from our core community (those who identify as women, non-binary, or underrepresented genders) to share their projects and design challenges with the group.

In the room will be mid-senior people from a range of disciplines – from content design and research, to UX, product design and service design. They’ll provide different perspectives and viewpoints to help you develop your design practice and uncover new approaches.

There are three ticket types available:

Showing tickets

These will be released in two batches of 10 . The first batch on the Saturday, 10th of February and the second batch on Satruday, 17th of February.

These tickets are for folks who would like to bring something to share at the critique. It can be an idea or something you want to refine. All we ask is that you visually represent your ideas in some way. This could be a humble sketch, or a fully developed artefact, or something else entirely. Surprise us! We will be able to share slides…reluctantly. There will be timed slots to help make sure that timings are equitable.

Potluck tickets

These 4 tickets might be ‘showing’ tickets or they might be ‘listening’ tickets. If you aren’t sure what you want to do and you want to live dangerously then choose this ticket. You won’t know if you need to ‘show’ something until the day. We’ll use a random number generator to find out. Inspired by the impromptu nature of art school critiques.

Listening tickets

You can attend and offer feedback to those who are sharing, when invited to do so. There are only 6 of these tickets and they will be released on Monday, 20th of February.

More details, including timings and guidelines, will be announced soon.

Many thanks to Brighton Friends’ Meeting House for hosting this event.
