LTUX Brighton x codebar Brighton: Accessible Online Forms

Our aim is to illuminate the overlap between user research, content design, user experience design, and web development. All of these aspects are important when creating a truly great online form.

What to expect:

• Doors will open at 6pm.
• Snacks and light refreshments will be provided.
• There will be 15 minutes for food and networking before an introduction and welcome from LTUX Brighton and codebar Brighton. This will be followed by welcomes from our host, The FuseBox and sponsor, Broadlight Global.
• The workshop will start promptly at 6:30pm and finish at 8:30pm.
• We have spaces for 30 in-person attendees.
• This workshop involves working with other people at a table and will be paper-based.
• You are welcome to bring your own device/s to look up information or take notes if you wish.

During the workshop, you’ll learn how to:

• Map the flow data that needs to be collected from the people filling in the form.
• Ask the best questions so you can obtain the best data.
• Bring designers and developers together to tag form fields for functionality and accessibility.
• Identify usability issues.
• Plan how to test your form.

This workshops includes a mixture of paper-based group activities, discussions, and guided activities with input from experts. You’ll be asked to use your observational skills to help develop or refine your practices with accessibility. We would like a mix of levels of expertise, so no matter your prior experience with building forms, you are very welcome to attend.
