 invited to meet data science students at all levels (Undergraduates\, Mast
 ers and PhDs) with the opportunity to pitch why your company is somewhere 
 they’d want to work.\n\nOur aim is to bring together a new generation of
  data scientists with the leaders in industry who want to employ them.\n\n
 Why DISCUS – what can we do for you?\n\n 	Help you to find people skille
 d in data sci &amp\; AI. We will introduce you to Sussex University studen
 ts from Informatics and the Sciences who've been honing their expertise an
 d applying it in real world situations.\n 	Offer you the chance to showcas
 e your company and the benefits of working with you to our brightest and b
 est.\n 	Connect you with current students looking for short-term placement
 s and employment after graduation.\n 	Be part of shaping our new authentic
  assessment programme\, where students work on real-world problems as part
  of their final year / MSc project.\n 	Learn more about accessing funding 
 for your business through Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs)\, Smart G
 rants and other Innovate UK funding.\n\nDISCUS at the University of Sussex
  is working with Silicon Brighton to bring together data science students\
 , researchers\, leaders from industry and senior academics to shape the fu
 ture of data science &amp\; AI in both industry and academia.\n\nHow the e
 vent will run\n\nWe’ll kick off promptly at 6.30pm\, giving each organis
 ation 2 minutes (you can also share 1 slide) to pitch to an audience of ap
 prox 100 students. (There'll be an option when you book tickets if you wan
 t to give a pitch or not).\n\nFrom 7.30pm onwards we’ll open up the floo
 r for networking with drinks and canapes. Because we know networking event
 s can be intimidating for some\, we’ll also operate a matching service w
 here we’ll make introductions by email after the event.\n\nPlease note t
 hat photographs and footage will be taken throughout this event. These wil
 l be used by the University for marketing and publicity in our publication
 s\, on our website and in social media or in any third party publication.
