 we and Dr Layla Brookfield set up Gas Gals\, a mentoring space for women w
 orking as anaesthetists\, someone asked whether they'd got permission to s
 tart it.\n"From whom?\," she said.\n\n \nHannah is a Consultant in Anaest
 hesia and Pain Medicine. Alongside the day job she's building a digital to
 ol that screens patients in preoperative assessment for pain-related risk 
 factors - catching things early rather than dealing with the consequences 
 later. Both projects come from the same instinct: if the structure you nee
 d doesn't exist\, that's not a reason to wait.\nIt's an instinct we recogn
 ise. Creating spaces where more people can belong\, contribute and lead is
  what One Health Tech exists to do - and Hannah's approach sits closely al

 \nAbout your speaker\nDr Hannah Dawe has 20 years’ NHS experience\, incl
 uding 6 years at Consultant level. To gain flexibility to care for her son
  with type 1 diabetes\, she now works part-time in the private sector alon
 gside developing a Class IIb SaMD designed to identify patients at risk of
  opioid-related complications and improve outcomes.
