SUMMARY:Demystifying Drupal and Drupal Distributions with LocalGov Drupal
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nLet's kick off 2024 with a great talk on Drupal by our ve
ry own Andy Broomfield. Andy is a regular PHP Sussex attendant and a Senio
r Drupal Developer at the Brighton &amp\; Hove City Council\, as well as o
ne of Localgov Drupal's maintainers.\nIn their talk\, Andy will take a de
ep dive into a major actor of the PHP ecosystem\, covering the main featur
es of Drupal and taking a closer look at the concept of distributions and
how it is used by dozens of councils across the UK and Ireland (details fu
rther down).\nThis event will be hybrid\, meaning you can either join in p
erson or online (please register for the meetup either way!):\nThe in-pers
on event will take place at Runway East in Brighton from 6:30 pm. There
will be food and drinks and you're welcome to come have a chat before the
talk starts (around 7 pm).\nOnline participants can join the live stream
from 7 pm.\nFollowing a recent survey we've decided to start our events 3
0 minutes later so make sure you double check those times!\nThis is how An
dy introduces their talk:\n"We’ll take a look at Drupal\, recognised as
one of the most popular Content Management Systems (CMS). Delving into its
capabilities\, Drupal has to offer to developers\, content designers and
also to “Ambitious Site Builders.” A significant aspect of Drupal's fl
exibility lies in its ability to build a wide variety of websites and appl
ication through the combination of contributed modules and custom code. Th
is talk explores the concept of distributions—pre-selected modules and c
onfigurations that streamline the website development process\, focusing s
pecifically on LocalGov Drupal\, a distribution co-developed and utilised
by over 40 councils in the UK and Ireland."\nHope to see you there and the
n!\nA big thank you to Silicon Brighton and Runway East for their supp
ort.\nRunway East has been fighting boring offices since 2014. Members get
team bliss guaranteed\, space to scale and Big Desk Energy.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
