SUMMARY:PLATF9RM Presents: Kickass Women
DESCRIPTION:We’re inviting you to celebrate kickass people everywhere wit
h Kickass Women. After four years\, word has got around that PLATF9RM is t
he place to be on International Women’s Day.\n\nOur lineup of speakers i
s set to take the conversation to a whole new level. Together we’ll expl
ore the many complexities of gender in the modern world\, and position fem
inism as a force for the good of everyone.\n\nEquity\n\nNope\, we haven’
t missed out a couple of letters. This year for International Women’s Da
y we’re shifting our focus to treating everyone fairly\, rather than equ
ally. But what does equity mean for feminism? What does the #EquityEra loo
 k like from different perspectives?\n\nIn 2023\, we’re facing a whole ne
w set of challenges around identity.\n\nTomorrow’s leaders\, Gen Z\, dem
and equality and diversity like no generation has before. They understand
the importance of treating people as they want to be treated\, which often
means breaking away from the conventions that the majority have come to a
ccept.\n\nWith Gen Z’s influence on global markets growing\, can we make
gender work in today’s society? Should we continue to break down stereo
types and redefine gender roles\, or should we be removing the concept fro
m the conversation altogether?\n\nWe don’t all start from the same place
 .\n\nImagine a brick wall. It’s six feet high\, and there’s something
really\, really cool on the other side. Are you tall enough to see over it
? If not\, would you like a step up?\n\nThat’s equity. Rather than turni
ng a blind eye to the differences that exist between us\, it’s acknowled
ging and addressing them so that everyone gets the same chances.\n\nKickas
s Women is all about togetherness\, not polarisation.\n\nWe’ll be explor
ing…\n\n• The meaning of equity\, and how it is being embraced by tomo
rrow’s leaders\n\n• The roles we all play everyday in our personal and
professional lives\, and the gender attributes that are typically attache
d to them\n\n• How the patriarchy is damaging to men as well as women\,
and why feminism should be embraced by everyone\n\n• What would happen i
f we lived in a matriarchal society – would we be better off\, or would
we end up with a whole new set of challenges?\n\n• How to flip the stats
on gender for good\n\nWhat’s included?\n\nBreakfast\, lunch &amp\; cana
pés by Yolk\n\nPop-ups throughout the day from local artists and makers\
n\nMeaningful connections and networking opportunities\n\nSpeakers confirm
