DESCRIPTION:Recent research has confirmed what many of us neurodivergent fo
 lks already suspected — that people who identify as neurodivergent are f
 ar more likely to also identify as LGBTQ+.\n\n🌈 A recent paper by the U
 niversity of Cambridge found that autistic people are eight times more lik
 ely to identify as LGBTQ+.\n\n🌈 The Brain Charity reports that in the w
 ider neurodivergent community\, significantly more people are likely to id
 entify as LGBTQ+.\n\nPerhaps this is because those of us who question our 
 neurotype are more likely to question our gender and sexuality\, or becaus
 e as neurodivergent people we are less likely to adhere to social norms.\n
 \nFor those of us who diverge from or queer “typical” social norms\, w
 hat does it mean to us to embrace our neurodivergent and queer identities 
 and live authentically and proudly?\n\nAnd for many of us who are late dia
 gnosed\, the experience of “coming out” as neurodivergent can feel ver
 y similar to our experiences of coming out as LBGTQ+ — how do we navigat
 e that and all the potential emotions and vulnerabilities it can stir up?\
 n\nIn this roundtable especially for Pride month\, Joyfully Different Co-F
 ounder Alice Reeves is joined by Arlo West\, a Trans &amp\; Non Binary EDI
  Consultant &amp\; Speaker\, Graphic Designer and Founder of Studio Arlo\,
  to explore:\n\n 	What do the terms “neurodivergence” and “queerness
 ” mean to us?\n 	How was our experience of “coming out” as neurodive
 rgent and LGBTQ+ different or similar?\n 	What are the challenges of trans
 itioning (whether NHS or privately) and disclosing a neurodivergent diagno
 sis?\n 	How do we deal with people who make ignorant or misinformed commen
 ts about our queer and neurodivergent identities?\n\nThe event will last f
 or 1 hour and 30 minutes\, with rough timings as follows:\n\n10 mins – W
