For the September meet-up we have not one but two speakers!
SAUG members Steve Goodman and Jonathan D’Aloia are going to run two very different talks, one on networking the other on cost management.
Here’s the details:
Getting to Grips with your Cloud Spend – Steve Goodman
Have you or your organisation been caught out with surprise cloud invoices? Have you ever wondered how you can be alerted well in advance of going over your budget? Have you thought, there must be a way to work out these costs before I deploy the resources? In this session Steve will answer all those questions, and hopefully leave you with some automation tips to help lower your cloud spend.
Using private link technology to secure your organisations data within the Azure cloud – Jonathan D’Aloia
Ensuring that your organisations data is secured to the maximum is always a requirement for DevSecOp teams and using Private Endpoints (powered by Private Link technology) gold plates the security across the modern Data Platform in Azure Private endpoints are talked about more and more amongst organisations however seeing the configuration done correctly is rarity and understanding around their purpose can sometimes be complicated, therefore as part of this session I will describe what Private Link technology is and describe their purpose and how they add that extra layer of security for your data.
I’ll then go on to demonstrate the various use cases for Private Endpoints, how to configure correctly, the considerations that need to be taken into account and some example architectures that can be used when implementing across modern Data-Platforms.
I will also show how Private Endpoints can be deployed and implemented through Infrastructure as code to enable high scalability and consistency when rolled out across modern Data Platforms.
As always we’ll have beer and pizza, please note the change of location. This meet up will be at Runway East on New England Street….we hope to see you there!
