SUMMARY:The Economic Outlook | Silicon Brighton Leaders
DESCRIPTION:\n The IMF has produced a grim economic forecast for the UK: t
he worst in the G7. Are they right?\n Business investment has stagnated s
ince the Brexit vote. What will revive it?\n Productivity has declined si
nce the financial crisis. How will it recover?\n Why has a substantial pa
rt of the labour force disappeared since Covid?\n And how is the tech sec
tor affected by all the negativity?\n\nThe Chancellor’s budget on March
13 will answer some of these questions…\n\n… Join us on the evening of
Thursday 23rd March where we’ll bring together the experts\, cut throug
h the confusion\, and provide not only everything you need to know about t
he financial forecast but also the effect on you and your business.\n\nWe
’re excited to be joined by our keynote speaker the Rt Hon Sir Vince Ca
ble who will assess where we are at that point and look for positive sign
s of recovery.\n\nVince retired from parliament after 20 years as MP for T
wickenham\, during which he served in the Coalition Cabinet as Secretary o
f State for Business Innovation and Skills (2010-15) and Leader of the Lib
eral Democrats (2017-19). On 2nd July 2022 he was announced as Vice Presid
ent of the European Movement. His accounts on the budget have been describ
ed as “lethally accurate”.\n\nWe will then hear from a panel who will
provide their own perspectives from across the tech ecosystem.\n\nThis is
your go-to event for everything you need to know about the economic outloo
 k.
