We’re bringing together 4 experienced freelance types who work across product, strategy, design, research and development. They’ll be answering your questions about UX side-hustles, project work and long-term alternatives to permanent roles, in what’s set to be a fantastic panel event.
Here’s who you can expect:
  • Tom Prior – Tom has been an independent Digital Product Designer and Design Strategist since 2017. He loves the entrepreneurial avenues that embracing independence can offer, and the opportunities and challenges that come with being your own boss. Tom is a design mentor, co-organiser of UX Camp Brighton, and hosts live community events.
  • Ann Danylkiw – Ann describes herself as a long-suffering, jobbing, user research contractor. For reasons passing understanding, she tends to work for government and the GDS system.
  • Paul Silver – Paul is a freelance web developer living in Sussex. He’s been organiser of The Farm freelancers networking group for 20 years.
  • Joan Herlinger – Joan has spent over 20 years designing experiences in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Paris and the UK. She has worked with large organisations and startups. Her practice is built around using storytelling to uncover and understand what users and businesses really need, rather than what they think they need.
Join us on Thursday 30th January from 6:30pm-9:30pm at The Pump House, Brighton.
This event is for anyone in digital (though we primarily focus our meet-ups on UX), so whether you’re freelance-curious, a longstanding contractor, or you’ve never even considered it an option for you, there will be plenty to learn!
We can’t wait to see you there.
