SUMMARY:Wellbeing in the Workplace
DESCRIPTION:After a successful first event in February this year\, Rocking
horse Children’s Charity and Flexibility Matters are hosting a second W
ellbeing in the Workplace event on the 8 October 2024 at the i360 in Brig
hton\, with keynote speaker\, Olympic diver\, executive coach and wellbein
g mentor Leon Taylor.\n\nLeon’s passion for everything he does has help
ed him achieve sustained success at the highest level. A 20 year career in
a demanding sport is a notable feat in itself. But his breakthrough succe
sses brought diving to the attention of the British public.\n\nDuring his
diving career\, Leon participated at 3 Olympic Games and was a member of t
he Great Britain team for 16 years.\n\nThe highlight of his career was win
ning a silver medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics. In 1998 he invented “th
 e world’s most difficult dive” – a backward 2.5 somersaults with 2.5
twists in the piked position. The dive is a legacy that continues to live
long after Leon’s competitive days.\n\nSince retirement Leon has been m
entor to\, among others\, diving sensation Tom Daley. This latter role led
him to write his first book\, “MENTOR – The most important role you w
ere never trained for”. A book aimed at organisations wishing to engage
and nurture talent through mentoring.\n\nIn 2015 Sheffield Hallam Universi
ty awarded Leon an honorary doctorate. Leon continues to collaborate with
the University on their mental wellness strategy. His work on the new stat
e-of-the-art Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre is particularly exciting.\
n\nLeon has a passion for engaging a wide audience about the challenges of
mental health.\n\nHe has featured in many media outlets\, including The B
BC. The compelling message in his TEDx talk\, How to manage your mental he
alth\, has proved very popular.\n\nLeon is a qualified executive coach hir
ed by leaders and entrepreneurs. He combines mentoring and high performanc
e experience with a passion for mental wellness. This leads to sustainable
high performance built on long-term mental wellness.\n\nThis event will i
nclude a panel with experts including Alison Daymond from Adastra HR\,
and James Shillaker and Emma Vivo from Epassi and Alex Bailey from
Bailey and French\, talking about different facets of wellbeing in the w
 orkplace from HR\, law\, staff engagement\, neurodiversity\, emotional wel
lbeing\, psychology and CSR.\n\nEvent attendees will also be able to ‘as
k the expert’ in a Q&amp\;A format where you can raise your own discussi
on points\, with table hosts including Claire Elmes from Inspire You We
llbeing Ltd\, and the chance to take part in a ‘Tapping into Wellbeing
