Can you share a bit about your background?

I’m Belle Wallis, a 24-year-old illustration graduate who’s been working as a bookseller for most of the last year.

How did you participate in EVOLVE?

I signed up to volunteer at Evolve Brighton as I wanted a bit more experience in event running and organisation. It was a great chance to peek behind the curtain for how big conferences and events are run.

What was your favourite part of the EVOLVE experience?

I really enjoyed the whole experience- everyone I worked with was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and I had opportunities to help out in lots of places. Favourite part was giving microphones to audience members with questions after talks- it was fun taking on an important role!

Where are you looking to go next with your work/career?

I’m hoping to work in general administrative / communications and management work in any creative industry, with a current focus on publishing. I’d love to be an illustration agent one day, so right now I’m trying to build my work experience in any way that I can.
