When Silicon Brighton launched, it didn’t begin with a grand plan or a roadmap. It started with a simple idea: create space for Brighton’s tech community to learn together, share openly and feel connected to something bigger than their own roles or companies.
There was no five year vision. No large budget. Just a belief that if we brought good people together often enough, the rest would follow.
A few meetups turned into a calendar. A calendar turned into a community. And a community turned into something Brighton had not quite seen before, a place where developers, product people, designers, founders, students and career changers all stood side by side with the same sense of belonging.
The moment it stood on its own feet
This year’s conference, EVOLVE [25], was a milestone we will look back on for a long time.
Not because it was big or glossy, but because it had that rare feeling of a community stepping fully into its identity. Every talk, every conversation between sessions, every moment in the corridor had the same energy: curiosity, generosity and a sense that the tech scene here is genuinely becoming something special.
Speakers shared openly. Attendees asked thoughtful questions. People stayed for hours afterwards, still talking. The feedback was overwhelmingly consistent: Brighton needed this, and it needs more.
EVOLVE [25] didn’t just go well. It proved something.
It showed that this community is ready for a platform that reflects its ambition.
Why EVOLVE [26] will be different
So next year, we’re taking a significant step forward.
EVOLVE [26] will take place as a one-day conference at the Brighton Centre.
It’s a venue that gives us the scale, production quality and visibility the community has been growing towards.
It allows us to host more people, deliver more impactful content and create an environment that matches the ambition we are seeing from across the city and the region.
We are building the programme around the themes that resonated most this year:
- AI and applied innovation
- Product leadership and delivery excellence
- Emerging technologies and future trends
- Sustainability in tech
- Investment, growth and scaling
- Community, careers and the future of work
We are also introducing new elements shaped directly by community feedback, including more space for practical sessions, real world case studies and voices that do not often have a platform.
Why this next step matters
Moving to the Brighton Centre is not just a venue upgrade.
It’s a signal that the tech community here is maturing.
It’s a sign that people want to invest in Brighton as a place to work, grow and build.
It reflects the ambition we are hearing from companies, founders, investors, universities and professionals at all stages of their careers.
When we started Silicon Brighton, our hope was that the community would one day grow beyond us, that it would have its own gravity, its own energy and its own sense of direction.
EVOLVE [25] was the moment that happened.
EVOLVE [26] is the next chapter.
