Why FundApps built a Continuous Deployment (CD) tool from scratch to serve their SaaS platform needs
In 2021 deployments at FundApps took hours, even after the Continuous Integration (CI) part was complete. As they scaled their product portfolio, customer base and number of engineers, things got even worse.
In order to meet their product development needs, something had to be done. They took a radical and risky decision and built a tool from scratch to handle thousands of deployments daily, with huge parallelism requirements. Spoiler alert, it paid off!
In this talk, Mike Hodgkins will talk about why FundApps took the approach they did, how it works, and if there’s time, talk about some of the surprises and gotchas that popped up along the way.
Expect to hear about the good, the bad and the ugly of AWS EventBridge and Step Functions!
