Are UX soft-skills “femme-coded”, “hidden” and undervalued? How does the language in tech lift us up – or hold us back?

This event is for our core audience. Women, Trans, Non-Binary and GNC inclusive.

Are UX soft-skills “femme-coded”, “hidden” and undervalued? Who’s really doing the work? And how does the language in tech lift us up – or hold us back?

Join us for a panel discussion where we’ll explore these questions and the impact on all genders. Expect an open and inclusive space to listen, share experiences, and be inspired to turn challenges into opportunities for change.

This event stems from a post-UX Brighton 2022 chat among members. After watching Matt LeMay’s talk citing Saielle DaSilva’s ‘F-Words of successful products’, we shared our own experiences and thought ‘We need more time to discuss this!’

Our panellists include UX and product directors, tech thought leaders, a linguist, and a creative leadership scholar. Their diverse perspectives will help us to pick apart the structures we work within and spark a lively discussion on advancing progress.

Our panellists are:

Pizza and a networking break will be provided as part of this event. We will do our best to cater for any dietary restrictions, so please let us know in the question we ask as part of the ticket
