Are you looking for data science & AI talent?

You’re invited to meet data science students at all levels (Undergraduates, Masters and PhDs) with the opportunity to pitch why your company is somewhere they’d want to work.

Our aim is to bring together a new generation of data scientists with the leaders in industry who want to employ them.

• Help you to find people skilled in data sci & AI. We will introduce you to Sussex University students from Informatics and the Sciences who’ve been honing their expertise and applying it in real world situations.

• Be part of shaping our new authentic assessment programme, where students work on real-world problems as part of their final year / MSc project.
• Learn more about accessing funding for your business through Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs), Smart Grants and other Innovate UK funding.

DISCUS at the University of Sussex is working with Silicon Brighton to bring together data science students, researchers, leaders from industry and senior academics to shape the future of data science & AI in both industry and academia.

How the event will run

We’ll kick off promptly at 6.30pm, giving each organisation 2 minutes (you can also share 1 slide) to pitch to an audience of approx 100 students. (There’ll be an option when you book tickets if you want to give a pitch or not).

From 7.30pm onwards we’ll open up the floor for networking with drinks and canapes. Because we know networking events can be intimidating for some, we’ll also operate a matching service where we’ll make introductions by email after the event.

Please note that photographs and footage will be taken throughout this event. These will be used by the University for marketing and publicity in our publications, on our website and in social media or in any third party publication.
